StackExchange has a rather involved vetting mechanism for new sub-sites. New proposals have to go through a three step process on a staging area, before they are added to the main site. The Research Data Management site is currently (Feb. 26th, 2025) in its "definition phase" and needs 9 more followers and 35 more questions with a score of 10 or more to move to the next phase.
