TL;DR: Depends on your funding organisation, university and maybe even research project.
Hello Mario,
as RDMO offers several different templates which also vary between different instances of the platform, I understand your confusion.
First of all you have to think about your funding organisation. If it is the DFG, then i would either recommend the DFG Template or even better the NFDI4Ing template as it holds the same information but is curated by NFDI4Ing to be more applicable.
Also, please check if your university or research project has a template of their own. Larger research projects like clusters of excellence often require their DMPs to be filled out in a specific template.
If none of the cases above apply, i would suggest that you utilise the NFDI4Ing template as your default option. On the one hand, it follows the DFGs guidelines and can therefore be considered as good scientific practice. On the other, the more people use a common template as their default with it eventually become the standard. This would then allow for automated evaluation over a broad amount of DMPs to derive new information maybe.
All the best
Tobias
